The Coloraxis D155: four painted layers, stacked and spaced apart. A yellow dome at the crown, a red ring beneath it, a wide blue disc, and a red cylinder holding the bulb at the base — each element held off the next on slim chrome posts so daylight and lamplight pass through the gaps between them.
The colors are not decoration applied to a shade. Each tier is a separate painted surface that catches light from the layer above and passes it down, so the light arriving in the room has picked up warmth from the yellow and depth from the red on its way through. Look up into it and you see the layers lit from within; look at it from across the room and you see a stack of flat, confident color.

Hang one over a breakfast table or a reading chair, two or three over a kitchen island spaced 24 to 30 inches apart, or a single one in a child's room or a studio where the color is the point. Keep the bottom of the fixture 30 to 36 inches above a counter, 30 to 34 inches above a tabletop.
