The Skygarden Pendant is a striking exercise in duality. Inspired by an antique plaster ceiling in Marcel Wanders' former home, the lamp features a sleek, hemispherical outer dome that conceals a breathtaking, hand-crafted plaster relief of flowers and leaves inside. It is a contemporary masterpiece that bridges the gap between ultra-modern industrialism and classical artisanal craftsmanship.
The white, cast-plaster interior features intricate floral motifs that catch the light, creating a depth of shadow and texture that mimics a ceiling in a historic manor. While the dome focuses light downward, an internal diffuser made of double-etched, mouth-blown opal glass prevents glare and softens the output. The bottom of the glass diffuser is covered by a laser-cut steel frieze, ensuring the floral theme is consistent from every viewing angle. Available in multiple exterior finishes—including Glossy Black, Matte White, Bronze, and Gold—to suit diverse interior palettes.
Designer Recommendations
Dining Rooms: The large diameter makes it a commanding centerpiece for rectangular or circular dining tables.
High Ceilings: Its internal detail is best appreciated when hung at a height where the interior relief is partially visible to those in the room.
Architectural Contrast: Best used in minimalist spaces where the "hidden" ornament provides a surprise element of warmth and history.
Is the plaster fragile? The plaster is cast and reinforced, but the lamp is heavy. Professional installation with appropriate ceiling support is required.
Can it be dimmed? Yes, the Skygarden is fully dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmable bulb and wall switch.
How do you clean the interior? Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a gentle duster. The plaster should not be exposed to water or cleaning chemicals.
